As announced by Abu Dhabi Mobility (AD Mobility), some new areas will have paid parking. The areas include Etihad Plaza in Khalifa City and Khalifa Commercial District. The announcement came after the completion of infrastructure updates in the areas.

The updates included sidewalk painting and signage installation. Consequently, the upgraded areas now have an enhanced visual appeal. The initiative will help tackle issues like illegal parking and enhance safety. Additionally, paid parking will ensure optimal use of the emirate’s parking facilities. The initiative will come into effect in the aforementioned areas in Abu Dhabi from 29th July 2024.

Sectors Included in Abu Dhabi’s New Paid Parking Areas

All car parking in Abu Dhabi comes under the Mawaqif system. The system regulates and monitors public parking in the capital city to ensure smooth traffic flow. The paid parking feature will be implemented in three sectors. Here’s a detailed list of sectors in new paid parking areas in Abu Dhabi.

SW2

The sector is situated between Al Qalayid Street to the east and Al Marmouq Street to the West. Also, it is bounded by Al Murahibeen Street to the south and Theyab Bin Eissa Street to the north. The sector houses a total of 523 parking spaces. Out of these, 17 spaces are designated for the People of Determination (PoD) – one of the ITC services for PoD in Abu Dhabi.

SE45

Sector SE45 is set in Etihad Plaza between Al Ibtisamah Street and Al Mireef Street. It contains 1283 parking spaces with 17 designated slots for PoD.

SE48

Located on Al Mireef Street at the headquarters of Etihad Airways, SE48 has 694 parking spaces. Out of these, 3 spaces are reserved for PoD.
