List of RTA AI Projects at GITEX 2025
RTA’s 11 featured projects represent advancements across multiple modes of transport and operational systems:
Smart Connected Vehicles Network (UTC-UX Fusion)
Developed at the Dubai Intelligent Traffic Systems Centre, this AI-powered network manages traffic signals using Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS). The advanced system enables real-time data exchange between vehicles and infrastructure. It has reduced traffic delays by 25% and cut operational costs by up to 30%.
AutoCheck 360 Vehicle Inspection System
The Auto Vehicle Inspection System integrates computer vision and IoT technologies to standardise inspection procedures and reduce human error. It shortens vehicle inspection time from 17 minutes to 7, enhancing service efficiency and safety standards.
Smart Mobility Platform for Safe Cities
This centralised system uses IoT and AI to monitor and analyse data from delivery bikes, school buses and other commercial transport vehicles. It evaluates driver behaviour, route compliance and speed patterns, allowing predictive detection of unsafe practices and improving public safety.
Smart Traffic Solutions Platform
An integrated platform utilising real-time data analytics, AI and predictive modelling to improve traffic flow, reduce congestion and enhance road safety across the emirate.
Safe Tracks Rail Inspection System (ARIIS)
The Automated Rail Inspection and Intelligent System employs laser scanning and computer vision to detect track defects with high precision. The system has reduced inspection time by 70% and significantly enhanced metro operational safety.
Trackless Tram
The Trackless Tram Project introduces an autonomous public transport solution that operates without fixed tracks. Using LiDAR, optical navigation and GPS, the system follows virtual routes, ensuring flexibility, reduced costs and efficient integration into urban traffic.
Aerial Taxi
The Joby S4 aerial taxi, capable of vertical take-off and landing, is undergoing trial operations in Dubai. The commercial service is envisioned to allow passengers to travel from Dubai International Airport to Palm Jumeirah in around 10 minutes, compared to 45 minutes by car. The service will integrate with other transport modes such as metro, e-scooters and bicycles to ensure seamless multimodal travel.
Dubai Mobility Lab
A dedicated research and development hub supporting innovation in autonomous systems, connected mobility and AI-driven transport technologies.
Smart Digital Channels
RTA is showcasing advancements in its digital ecosystem, including the S’hail app, which integrates all public and private transport options into one platform. Moreover, the RTA Dubai app, which consolidates licensing, parking, fines and permits.
Interactive Kiosks
Complementing the RTA’s user-centric digital services are the interactive smart kiosks. These platforms offer instant video communication with customer service agents of the RTA Happiness Centres. The interactive kiosks are also among the highlighted RTA initiatives at GITEX 2025.
AI Factory
The Artificial Intelligence Factory serves as a platform for research, development and application of machine learning and predictive analytics. It supports RTA’s data-driven operations and fosters innovation to strengthen Dubai’s position as a global leader in smart mobility.
