One of the cycling activities in the Dubai Fitness Challenge, Dubai Ride, attracts a wide range of people due to its unique offerings. The competition provides both novice and expert cyclists with an unforgettable ride through Dubai’s famous landmarks, offering a whole new perspective on the city.

The Sixth Edition of Dubai Ride Routes

For the 6th Dubai Ride event, riders can choose between two exciting routes: a 4km family-friendly loop offering views of Downtown Dubai or a 12km stretch that takes cyclists along the iconic Sheikh Zayed Road.

The 4km Downtown Family route winds through Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Road, passing iconic landmarks like Dubai Mall, Dubai Opera and the Burj Khalifa. With its flat terrain, it’s the perfect route for cyclists of all ages and skill levels.

The 12km Sheikh Zayed Road route stretches from the Dubai World Trade Centre to Safa Park and back. It features a climb over the Dubai Canal Bridge, making it ideal for more experienced cyclists seeking a challenge.

For seasoned cyclists, the event will feature the high-energy Dubai Ride Speed Laps. This will offer a thrilling challenge that pushes riders to maintain a minimum pace of 30km/h along the Sheikh Zayed Road route. After testing their limits, participants will join family and friends for the main ride.

Dubai Ride 2025 Timings

  • Dubai Ride kicks off at 6:15 am. Contestants must enter through their designated start gates before they close at 7:30 am. Moreover, all cyclists are required to complete their ride by 8:15 am.

Dubai Ride presented by DP World – Things to Know

Alongside other activities, participants of the Dubai Ride can enjoy the benefits of cycling. However, there are certain rules to follow for the event.

Before The Ride

  • Register and collect your bib to participate in the Dubai Ride.
  • Bib collection at Dubai Municipality 30×30 Fitness Village, Zabeel Park, from 29 October to 1 November.
  • Collection timings:
    • Wednesday & Thursday: 4:00 pm – 11:00 pm
    • Friday: 12:00 pm – 11:00 pm
    • Saturday: 8:00 am – 11:00 pm
  • Bring your registration QR code for bib collection.
  • Bring a refillable water bottle and refill at Mai Dubai water stations.
  • Any two-wheeled bike with working brakes is allowed; e-bikes are fine, but scooters are not.
  • Helmets are required and bike lights are recommended if arriving early before sunrise.
  • Dubai Ride starts at 6:15 am; make sure to enter through your start gate before 7:30 am, when the gates close.

People of determination are also encouraged to join the fun and should review the detailed information sheet on the official event website and contact PoD@linkviva.com so the organisers can share a dedicated starting area.

During the Ride

  • Stay safe, stay hydrated and enjoy every moment of the Dubai Ride.
  • If feeling unwell, stay at home and maintain distance from others to avoid accidents.
  • Bring your bike helmet and Dubai Ride bib. You won’t be allowed to participate without them.
  • Don’t forget to bring your refillable water bottle and bike lights.
  • The Dubai Ride is not a race. Ride at your own pace and allow faster cyclists to pass.
  • If you need to stop, move to the side of the road to avoid blocking the route for others.
  • Bike mechanic stations are available along both routes for any repairs.
  • Follow Dubai’s traffic laws if cycling to the Dubai Ride and be aware that roads will be busier after the event.
  • Family-friendly event, but all children must be supervised by an adult.
  • Children with training wheels or stabilisers can only join the Downtown Family route for safety reasons.
  • Everyone (children and adults) must wear a cycle helmet.

After the Ride

To ensure the roads are reopened for traffic, all cyclists must complete their ride by 8:15 am. While it’s best to finish at the same gate where you started for a smoother journey home, don’t worry if you end up somewhere else. The event team will assist in directing you back on track.

Free Bike Rentals for Participants of Dubai Ride

careem and RTA are offering free bike rentals for The sixth edition of Dubai Ride
For the mega event, Careem has partnered with RTA to provide free bike rental to the participants

Careem, in partnership with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), has unveiled a special initiative. Participants of Dubai Ride can rent Careem Bikes for free.

Participants can redeem a free single-trip pass on the Careem app by entering the promo code DR25.

Bikes can be picked up from either of Careem Bike’s two pop-up stations, Entrance A: Museum of the Future (Trade Centre Street) or Entrance E: Lower FCS (Financial Centre Street), or from any of the 200+ Careem Bike stations across Dubai.

Bikes will be available on a first-come, first-served basis between 3:00 am and 8:00 am and any extra-time fees for rides over 45 minutes will be waived during this window.

How to to Redeem a Free Careem Bike Pass in Dubai

  • Download or update the Careem app, tap ‘Bike’, select Single Trip Pass and apply the promo code DR25 at checkout between 3:00 am and 8:00 am on November 2, 2025.
  • Pick up your bike from either Entrance A: Museum of the Future (Trade Centre Street) or Entrance E: Lower FCS (Financial Centre Street), or unlock one from any of the 200+ Careem Bike stations across Dubai.
