Delivery Motorbike Regulations in Dubai: Lane Usage Prohibition
According to the new rules, delivery riders will be prohibited from using the two leftmost lanes on roads or major UAE highways with five lanes or more. On the other hand, delivery riders on roads with three or four lanes are not allowed to use the leftmost lane on main roads. However, on roads or streets with two or fewer lanes, there will be no restrictions on lane usage for delivery bikes.
Delivery Riders Banned from Fast Lanes in Dubai: Announcement and Implementation
Jointly announced by RTA and Dubai Police Headquarters, the new Dubai commercial motorcycle delivery regulations will be implemented from November 1, 2025. According to Hussain Al Banna, CEO of the Traffic and Roads Agency at RTA, the new rules align with Dubai’s Economic Agenda (D33) objective. The agenda is to double the size of the emirate’s economy in the coming years and update laws and regulations continuously for an enhanced delivery service experience and road safety.
Fine for Delivery Bike Lane Violation in Dubai
Riders violating the rules will be fined. An AED 500 fine will be imposed for the first offence and then it will go up to AED 700 for the second offence. The permits of the delivery rider will be suspended upon a third violation. Similarly, there will also be fines for those violating the UAE speed limits.
Delivery riders exceeding speed limits of 100 km/h or above will be fined AED 200 for the first offence. The fine will go up to AED 300 for the second instance and AED 400 for the third violation.
