RTA has long participated in events showcasing its futuristic initiatives. For instance, RTA at GITEX 2024 presented some notable innovations. Continuing the tradition, the authority is presenting more of its initiatives at GITEX Europe 2025.

The event takes place from 21st to 23rd May with participants from more than 135 countries. Participants showcase initiatives in technology areas including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud computing, data analytics, the Internet of Things (IoT), smart cities and other cutting-edge digital innovations.

Dubai RTA’s AI initiatives at Gitex Europe 2025

GITEX Europe Dubai pavilion presents five innovative initiatives at the exhibition. The initiatives by RTA Dubai include the following:

Air Taxi Customer Journey

RTA’s platform at the exhibition highlights the Air Taxi Customer Journey, a forward-thinking idea for how people will use air taxi services. The goal is to improve every part of the journey, offering a smooth and high-quality experience that uses the latest technology. It also supports the use of new tech to make the service more efficient and convenient for users.

Another initiative by RTA at GITEX Europe 2025 is that of interactive kiosks. These interactive kiosks provide access to all RTA services through a user-friendly and modern interface. AI-Powered Traffic Flow Optimisation

The platform also presents AI-Powered Traffic Flow Optimisation, which uses smart technology to reduce traffic and make roads safer. By studying real-time data, the AI adjusts traffic signals and gives helpful predictions to improve the flow of traffic across Dubai.

Palm Vein Payment

Another feature on the platform is Palm Vein Payment for Public Transport, a new and secure way to pay using palm recognition, which is part of the ongoing development of the Nol card system. This technology links a user’s palm vein to their Nol account, making it quick and easy to pay fares while keeping the process safe and efficient.

Enhancing Pedestrian and Cyclist Experience

A part of the RTA digital transformation strategy, the authority is also showcasing its work to improve the experience for pedestrians and cyclists. The initiative features a smart multi-use pole installed along walking and cycling paths. The pole includes a canopy, seating, USB charging ports, a camera, an air pump and basic repair tools for bikes. All these features are built to make walking and cycling in the UAE more comfortable and to encourage more people to use these eco-friendly travel options.
